Australia offers plenty of adventures, and if you head up to Queensland, it’s one of the best places to satisfy your curiosity about crocodiles. Cairns, in particular, is often called the “croc capital.” You definitely wouldn’t want to encounter them at the beach, but it’s possible, so be extra careful if you decide to swim there.
For a safe introduction to crocodile life, we went to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures. It was easy to see and photograph both saltwater and freshwater crocodiles, and we had an incredibly close-up experience by cruising through a lagoon filled with them. You could easily spend a day at this park, as there’s plenty of wildlife to check out and a full schedule of shows to learn from. Even with just half a day available, you’ll still come away feeling you’ve truly experienced it.
