Sydney, Australia is among my favorite cities that I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. It boasts a breathtaking skyline and multiple harborside viewpoints perfect for strolling, dining, and touring right in the city center. The Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge are two of the most famous landmarks. One reason I love Sydney is that it’s very walkable and has public transportation that is simple to navigate and highly convenient. When you plan a trip to Sydney, I recommend staying in the central business district, commonly called the CBD. I chose the Grace Hotel, and its location was ideal for everything on my itinerary. I could walk to the Opera House, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, countless shops, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Rocks area, and more.
The Grace Hotel itself is one of Sydney’s oldest buildings and was recently restored. This neo-Gothic structure was constructed in the 1920s by the Grace Brothers. In my experience, it offered the inviting atmosphere of a heritage hotel combined with a touch of luxury, all at a reasonable price. The double room was very roomy, and the beds were exactly as promised truly “dreamy”. Housekeeping made up our room perfectly every day, and whenever we needed anything, the staff was quick to help. If you’re looking for a charming, dependable hotel, this could be your best bet. The only drawback I found was the gym, located on the top floor with a very low ceiling. Anyone looking to lift weights should probably skip their routine; it’s more suited for using the treadmill or bicycle. Overall, I recommend this hotel for its immaculate rooms, unbeatable location, and attentive service. You can find the best rates on Hotels.com.
If you don’t mind staying a bit farther out, there are also some hotels near Spice Alley that might be good alternatives.
No matter how you choose to travel or where you decide to stay, always remain grateful for your adventures. I personally thank God for the gift of travel.
